Very little indeed. Typically, all walls within a building make up 10% of the total built cost, and only 1% is spent on external finishing. HR50 may cost you less than 0.5% of your total building budget, but saving occurs right from the start and continues for the life of the building.
Conventional wall construction with internal insulation will leave heat bridges at columns and add the cost of a second internal wall.
HR50 applied to the outside of the building give full protection and lower structural loads with weight savings from single wall construction.
Insulation properties of selected materials in comparison with HR50. For example, 25 mm of HR50 will insulate as well as a sandstone wall of 500 mm or 350 mm of concrete.
